Clearly, Chef Melanito and Victor Biyouha, the engines that fuel the success of Biyou’Z have figured out what you want in your mouth!

     I’m going to spend the next few weeks eating my way through the extensive menu. I was surprised by how deep and varied it is. 

     I started with what’s described as a simple Fried Fish appetizer, that was a minimalist understatement. What I got was a whole crosscut of a sturdy, lightly fried fish decorated and seasoned with a jubilee of diced vegetables, and other colorful treats. With a side of vegetables, it can stand in as it’s own main course!

     For my main plate, I picked the Malang Banana da terra frita Peixe frito com Molho acebolado I have no idea how that translates, however it’s a seared portion of a dense white fish, smothered in onions, red peppers, and green peppers. Buffeted with pan-fried bananas that were firm and fresh it left me full, but not stuffed.

     Since I had no idea the food would be so good I would have to write about it, I was halfway done with my meal before I realized I should take a picture.  That’s why I used one from their website.  Don’t worry, mine looked exactly like the one in the photo!

     I feel the need to stress that when I say that it’s fried food I need to make it clear that I don’t mean the typical Western, salty, high blood pressure inducing way. They allow the freshness and flavor of the foods and ingredients stand on their own.
